Embroidery Explained

Embroidery is the oldest form of group branding;
remember the medieval knights and their flags?
Well corporate branding is just the modern version
of showing rivals who and, importantly, where you are.

Branding your clients to ensure they stand out at an exhibition or event is as vital as making their staff look smart and professional on a daily basis.

If you have never offered embroidery to your clients before then there are a few basics you will need to understand.  Here we hope to guide you through the process clearly but if you do have any questions or queries please don’t be afraid to ask us.

To start the embroidery process we will need to receive the artwork preferably by e-mail in a jpeg format, text only can be sent as a PDF. Please be aware word documents are not accepted as the font can corrupt when emailed if our system doesn’t hold the same font.

This will then be turned into a format that our embroidery machines can read, this is called digitising.  A digital jacquard is then produced with a paper copy showing the actual stitches and colourways.  Our experienced in-house digitisers continue to check the disc to ensure perfect replication of the design throughout the process.  A copy of the design is emailed to you FREE OF CHARGE at this stage to confirm size, colour ways and position it will be placed on the item.

At this stage any text in a design may appear uneven on the running sheet.  This is normal, particularly on rounded letters ie: “O” or “b” and is because all of the stitches are shown on the running sheet which are then be hidden within the garment tension when physically embroidered forming perfectly shaped letters or numbers.

Before any items are embroidered the new design will be run out onto test fabric to check the embroidery design meets our quality standard.  A sewn out sample is sent to you in the post FREE OF CHARGE for final approval.  At this point additional samples can be supplied for your records or your client for a small additional cost, again based on the number of stitches.

Each embroidery design is subject to a one off set-up charge cost. This is based on the number of stitches and complexity of the design. This is a one off charge and once set-up the jacquard and detailed running sheet recording thread colours used will be held on file for future orders. Only when you are 100% happy do we embroider any items.

The average size of a corporate logo is 5000 stitches, simply send the logo with an idea of what it is to be embroidered on ie: Polo shirts to info@taylorsembroidery.co.uk and we will be pleased to email you a quotation.

We supply a full range of fabric badges plus familiar brand named garments and bags (see “our services”) We are so confident of our quality that there are no spoilages to worry about, so if you order 100 polo shirts from us you get 100 polo shirts giving you peace of mind for you and your clients.

Alternatively we can embroider your own items at no additional cost, however, occasionally due to the mechanical process of commercial embroidery spoilages may occur which is beyond our control.  Damaged garments are returned to you but will not be replaced.

Unlike many companies we do not have a minimum order quantity or small order charge
and with up to 12 colours in any one design you can have exactly what you want in any quantity.

Our thread is the best quality and apart from a range of over 350 shades we can also offer a Fire Resistant option for race suits and safety garments in a choice of colours.  Our standard range is also eco-friendly and colour fast up to 95 deg.
